HISTORY Doug and Helen Webber started both a family and business together. Webber’s Lodges, Churchill Wild’s mother company, was born some 30 years ago. The three Webber girls contributed to the business from the moment they could and were regularly seen expediting, hauling building supplies, cooking, cleaning, conducting guest mail outs, fueling aircraft, and much (much) more.
PRESENT Churchill Wild was created by the Webber’s daughter Jeanne and her husband Mike Reimer. They have operated both Webber’s Lodges and Churchill Wild alongside Doug and Helen for the last 15 years. The Webber team expanded again some years ago when another of Doug and Helen's daughters, Toni, and her husband Nelson Morberg became involved in the business development and operations for Churchill Wild.  This freed Doug and Helen to withdraw from the full-time lodge life and four partners, two primary guides, and some administrative team members remain!  They are as follows:
DENNIS FAST
Guide Extraordinaire

Dennis has been a naturalist guide and professional photographer for Churchill Wild for ten years. His ecological knowledge of the Churchill area is extensive as a result and he appreciates the wild beauty of this land like few others. Join him for nature hikes where you will identify a wide variety of arctic vegetation and wildlife. His frequent and thorough photography workshops will help you to maximize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Dennis has it all and is certainly a guide extraordinaire.
IAN THORLEIFSON
Guide Extraordinaire

Ian began working in Churchill in 1980. Since then, he has maintained close contact with the community and its polar bears through his work as a biologist, tour leader, and facilitator for the Manitoba Wildlife Branch, Parks Canada, and Churchill Wild. His big friendly smile and his comprehensive knowledge of the arctic and its inhabitants (human and otherwise) have made Ian a star amongst guests and fellow guides alike.
JEANNE REIMER
Chef Extraordinaire

Jeanne is both a Director of Operations with Churchill Wild and an incredible chef. Her cooking skills are legendary, and an invitation to her table is never turned down. Together with her husband Mike, a transplanted prairie dog, they have built what was and still is the first eco lodge on the Hudson Bay. Seal River Heritage Lodge (one of Churchill Wild’s three wilderness lodges) has become a Mecca for wildlife enthusiasts from all parts of the globe who are eager to view polar bears, swim with whales, and hike the tundra all while being wined and dined in 5-Star arctic fashion.
MIKE REIMER, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
The Ultimate Outdoorsman

Like his wife, Mike's role in Churchill Wild is twofold; he is both a Director of Operations and the Ultimate Outdoorsman His love for all things created led him north after high school to realize his dream of becoming a wilderness guide & outfitter; and realize it he did. Mike is an invaluable asset in the bush. He has paddled, hiked, boated, flown over, dog sledded, snowmobiled, and explored over a hundred thousand square miles of the sub arctic land he loves. Mike is a jack-of-all-trades and master of all. The leadership and management that Mike and Jeanne have provided at the lodges has undoubtedly created the repeat business Churchill Wild is famous for.
TONI MORBERG, Director of Business Development
The Strategist

Toni oversees all aspects of Churchill Wild. Her premium management skills and inherent business savvy have moved the already well-established company her parents created, into international stardom, attracting hundreds of outdoors people to Northern Manitoba each year.
NELSON MORBERG, Director of Operations
The Aviator

Nelson is Churchill Wild’s “airplane savant” as well as an avid outdoorsman. At 12, Nelson was fueling aircraft for his father’s pilot at Calm Air and at 17, was a licensed pilot himself. He’s been flying ever since, and as our lodges are accessible only by air, the joke goes that if you’re ever looking for Nelson, just look up.
