Our Environment
Seal River Heritage
Lodge and Dymond Lake Lodge sit
on the edge of the vast northern plain called the Arctic tundra.
As a result, our weather is dominated by the chilling effects
of the Hudson Bay which is literally right at our doorstep.
As it is Ice free for only a few months each year, this natural
"refrigeration" unit sees to it that our summer temperatures
average about 12C. Despite this average, temperatures
can vary wildly, as in any Arctic environment, depending on
wind direction.
